The New World Center’s multimedia enabled tour de force is the performance hall. Like no other, this radically configurable space garners international attention for its technical capabilities and crisp acoustical integrity.
A myriad of distinctive variations in seating and stage configuration enable the New World Center to shatter the boundaries of traditional concert formats and minimize the distance between the artist and the audience.
The performance hall engages audiences through four ancillary performance platforms fixed at cardinal points in the auditorium. Ten mechanical lifts comprise the flexible stage deck while five architecturally significant projection sails loom overhead. Nestled within the acoustically treated sails hide fourteen 30,000 lumen projectors; in “the Cloud” overhead conventional and moving lights work in concert to create an immersive audience experience. Temporary rigging points, chain motor system and hidden projection screen (39’ x 16’) support a variety of high quality event productions.
The performance hall proudly hosts presentations of all types, including theatrical events, webcasted presentations, broadcast productions, Grammy-winning album recordings, and general sessions.
In the traditional concert format in the round, the performance hall maximum seated capacity is 756. Guests seated onstage for a dinner configuration the maximum capacity is 100. Seat retraction offers the potential for higher guest capacities depending on the production scope of work.
